Why does diesel cost more than gas?
Does anyone know why diesel costs more than gas? I just noticed that today the price of diesel is $1.45/liter and the price of gas in $1.23/liter. Why is this? Diesel used to always be at least 10 cents cheaper than regular gasoline. I thought that it took less energy and time to refine diesel.
It's because they can charge more for diesel without having to worry about it affecting sales. The big trucks have to keep running and the gas companies know this.
