i converted a 1971 chevell from steering column shift to floor shift?
i bought a starshifter from b&m and it comes with a neutral safety switch and backup light switch now would i need to unplug those switches from the neutral safety switch on the column and reconnect to the b&m shifters safety switch and backup light switch and is the back up light switch the reverse lights ? and what does the safety switch do?
Ok, the safety neutral switch only allows you to start the the car in park or neutral The back up light switch turns on the back up lights when ya put it in reverse. Just extend the wires and hook them up to the new shifter, just check them with a test light to make sure you get the right ones! The switch with all the wires ya need is located right at the base of the steering column, two small bolts hold it on!
