Great Condition
What is the value of an antique iron pedestal bath tub in great condition?
We are thinking of selling an old iron pedestal tub and want to know the true value of it. It is in good condition and we know it is about 80 years old. We are taking it out of the house it was originally in. It does not have the usual claw feet, but a pedestal all around.
The last I checked, a clawfoot in perfect condition is about $1500.
Which coincidentally is what a new "old-fashioned" tub from Kohler or American Standard costs made from acrylic. Cast Iron is much preferable for holding in the heat and durability.
But, there is always Ebay to see what the market thinks also.

Papa's Delicate Condition $12.71 This charming tale is about a young girl's father and his slightly erratic behavior after sampling a refreshing alcoholic beverage. Although Papa Jack Griffith (Jackie Gleason) never appears to be drunk, his delicate condition is well known to his family. His wife is definitely unhappy over his penchant but loves him just the same. He is adored by his youngest daughter, six year old Corinne (Linda Bruhl). When he tries to buy a pony for Corinne, he not only gets the pony but the entire broken down, debt ridden circus as well. This is too much for wife Ambolyn (Glynis Johns), who packs up the kids and heads for her father's house in Texarkana. Jack follows with the entire circus in pursuit to take his loving family back home. He also hoodwinks some local investors to put money into a proposed drug store, thereby circumventing a blue law that forbids the sale of alcohol. Condition Red [Japan Bonus Track] $35.99 Condition Red is the fourth full-length album by German band Iron Savior. The album finds the bandmembers staying quite close to their tried-and-true brand of power metal. Don't expect any drastic musical revelations here, though, but don't expect to be bored, either. They dish out the metal in a very entertaining manner. In short, the album rocks. It comes screaming in, and it is obvious quite early on that these guys really want to be Judas Priest at times. That said, they are a great substitute for that classic metal band when they put their minds to it, although guitarist/vocalist Piet Sielck is definitely no Rob Halford (who is, though?). For those who doubt the Priest-isms, check out "Protector." Iron Savior infuse the Priest textures with the more power metal vocals of groups like Manowar, though. They also throw in the neo-symphonic textures of groups like Helloween and Rhapsody. The limited-edition version of the CD includes a cover of (believe it or not) a Seal cut: "Crazy" may seem an unusual choice for a metal band, but Iron Savior makes the song its own, and puts in a very intriguing rendition. The album's lyrics for the most part continue the story of the Iron Savior (an original concept of the band and the source of its name), leading one to wonder whether there will ever be a conclusion. The overall effect of this disc is that it is a solid metal release that brings the Judas Priest sound into a more pure power metal vein.
