Are cats of the tuxedo color variation rare?
I own a black and white American Short hair tuxedo cat, and I was just wondering whether or not cats of similar color are a rarity among the American Short hair breed.
My interest in this is mere curiosity- I have no intention of breeding my lovely feline!

No, they are not particularly rare. They're not the most common like brown tabbies and "solid" blacks (almost all blacks have a few white hairs somewhere) but they are not rare. But I would not say they are rare like a male calico or tortiseshell (1 in 3000) or a female orange/red (15% of the orange/reds.)
I think the answerer who thinks they are went thru what alot of people go thru, once you decide what you want it is no where to be found - like getting a kitten in February in NY when cats aren't typically nursing kittens.
