Will a 7' fishing rod fit in the bed of a 2009 Dodge Ram Crew Cab?
I know it won't fit length wise, but how about diagonally across?
If you have a 2009 Ram Crew Cab I'd love to hear from you!
It sure will, in fact, a longer rod will too. I have an 8' loomis that goes in regularly, I open the back drivers side door, and put the rod towards the windshield tip first. the butt fits along the seat headpost on the back and is supported in the middle by the armrest in the up position.
More than you want to know? The nine foot calstars I take wont fit, so I put them in butt first through the opening in the back glass, and the butt rests on the dashboard, with the tip out the back, this takes two people to insure you dont bend a guide.
For best sucess in transporting your rods a short distance, try bundleing them without reels, and the guides facing out in all directions, also it helps to separate the tips with cloth, or the ratteling might drive you nuts.
