is it a bad idea to buy a 2004 truck with 150 thousand miles on it?

Its a 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac XLT SUV. I'm wondering if i should consider buying a different vehicle because i was told trucks with over 100 thousand miles will probably have troubles soon. All for $8,995, which i believe is pretty pricey.

$8995 is too much. A private party sale for that vehicle is $6500 for a 2x4 and $7400 for a 4x4, both in "good" condition. Yes, you may likely have trouble soon too. Does the truck have the original engine and transmission? Service records? Did you have a mechanic check it out? For the right price, it may not be a bad deal, but $9000 as is sounds like a good deal only for the seller.
